If you play ball games, then you’ll know how frustrating it can be when your ball just isn’t inflated enough. A slightly deflated ball can spoil any solo or team game that you try to play as it doesn’t bounce, pass, or spike properly.
It’s not recommended that you use bike pumps or cans of compressed air to inflate a ball, so it’s really handy to have a ball pump in your tool kit to ensure that you’ve always got perfectly inflated balls on hand.
We took a look at some of the automatic ball pumps on the market and came across this Keenstone Automatic Electric Fast Ball Pump. This device seemed to do everything we wanted it to, all for a reasonable price. Let’s take a closer look to see if it’s worth the investment.
Keenstone Automatic Electric Fast Ball Pump
As an innovation company, Keenstone combines the latest technology with over a decade of expertise to provide solid and reliable consumer electronics. They have won loyal customers around the world due to the quality and service they deliver and are the first to introduce an electric ball pump to the market.
Who Is This Product For?
This product is ideal for someone who is looking for a fast, effective, and accurate way to pump up sports balls of any kind. If it’s important to you to pump up your balls to the correct psi, then you’ll need a ball pump like this that can tell you what the ball pressure is.
As this pump is electric, it will be particularly useful to someone who works in the sports industry and regularly has a lot of balls to pump up.
What’s Included?
Your package will include one Keenstone Automatic Electric Fast Ball Pump and a USB charger. One needle to inflate balls with, one swimming ring nozzle, one air hose, a waterproof carrying bag, and a user manual containing full instructions for use also come with every purchase.
Overview of the Features
This innovative electric pump from Keenstone is available at a great price and has received some fantastic reviews from customers so far. Here is an overview of some of the features that we particularly liked:
- Automatic and Manual Settings
You can pump up various balls using the manual or automatic setting. The manual setting allows you to control how much air you put into the ball depending on how it feels, and the automatic setting can be preset to a certain psi. You just select the pressure you want, insert the needle into the ball, and then the pump will fill it with air until the ball reaches the desired pressure rating.
The device lights up at different psi ratings but is rounded to the nearest whole number. Hence, if you want to fill your ball to 8.5 psi (for example), then you would have to do it manually, and guess the timing to take it slightly over eight pounds, or press the minus to take it slightly under nine pounds.
- Multi-Use Pump
This electric pump can be used for balls of all kinds—soccer balls, footballs, basketballs, volleyballs, handballs, literally any inflatable ball that accepts the needle inflate valve. We wish it came with a spare needle or two though, as the needles on ball pumps have a tendency to break in our experience.
As it also includes a nozzle, you can also use it for swimming inflatables and air mattresses. When using the swimming ring nozzle and adding air to other inflatable devices, you should always use the manual setting and either fill them with air to the manufacturer's specification or until the device feels firm to touch.
- Rechargeable
This electric ball pump is rechargeable, which means you don’t have to rely on having spare batteries all the time. The charging time is quite long at four hours, but it can inflate around 30 balls per charge.
It takes around one or two minutes on average to fully inflate a ball, so if you’re just topping up balls for your team each week for practice, then you should be able to get through a large number of balls pretty quickly.
- Portable
This pump is so portable it can fit in your jeans pocket! You can literally take it anywhere with you that you might need it, and if you don’t have pockets, then you can slide it into a backpack or ball bag. You can even take it camping with you to help inflate air beds and any other inflatables you might have.
How to Use This Ball Pump
First, you have to connect the needle and adapter to the ball and turn the device on by pressing the ON/OFF button for three seconds (long press). You then short press the SET button to select the psi amount you want to fill your ball with, and short press the ON button again to initiate the inflation.
Inflation will stop once the psi amount is reached, and then you just need to long-press the ON/OFF button again to switch the pump off. Don’t lose the attachments by stowing them away safely in the waterproof pouch provided.
Alternative
If you would prefer a battery-operated electric pump, then Keenstone offers another Electric Ball Pump that is operated using three AA batteries instead of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This ball pump is also small and powerful and can fit in your bag or pocket for carrying around with ease.
It also comes with a spare needle in case one breaks. However, it doesn’t come with a swimming ring nozzle, so this pump is strictly for balls only.
Conclusion
The Keenstone Automatic Electric Fast Ball Pump is everything we hoped it would be and more. The rechargeable pump is by far our favorite as we’re so used to being able to recharge everything these days.
We love the fact that you can use it to pump up all sorts of inflatable objects and not just balls. The preset function, which allows it to automatically fill a ball to a preset psi, is also fantastic. This is sure to save you loads of time if you have a whole team’s worth of balls to refill every week or so.
